We are a fast-paced, high-volume nursery/garden center seeking a dependable and hardworking yard associate. This role is knowledge and experience based regarding trees, shrubs, and yard stock. Physical labor may be necessary at times, but is not the focus of this position. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, reliable, safety-minded, and able to work efficiently in an outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing excellent customer service is the #1 priority here at Briggs!
    Greeting customers in a friendly and timely manner. Expected to be helpful, polite, and sincere both over the phone and in-person.
  • Educating customers with proper care, planting instructions, and our Briggs guarantee. Assisting customers with plant selections based on their specifications. 
  • Timely and thorough watering of all yard stock.
  • Sales — promoting sales of both yard and retail products.
  • Move, stage, and organize plant material throughout the yard.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and lifting techniques.
  • Using company radios to communicate with employees professionally.
  • Be able to cash out customers.
Physical Requirements:
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (often 50–100 lbs.) repeatedly
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of trees, shrubs, and plants is required.
  • Prior nursery, landscaping, or yard work experience is heavily preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and reliable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
Schedule:
  • Full-time or part-time position available
  • Must be available weekends and peak seasonal hours (March – October)

This position plays a key role in our number one goal at Briggs — customer service! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people & thrives in a busy retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing excellent customer service is the #1 priority here at Briggs! Greeting customers in a friendly and timely manner. Expected to be helpful, polite, and sincere both over the phone and in person.
  • Handle high-volume customer traffic during peak seasons in a calm & efficient manner.
  • Operate cash register accurately (cash, credit, gift cards, returns), ensuring every customer is thanked for their purchase.
  • Memorizing a wide variety of product codes.
  • Calling loaders to assist customers.
  • Assist customers with product selection, pricing, and general questions.
  • Answer phones in a professional manner and direct customer inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean & organized checkout and retail area.
  • Receiving retail product, checking it in, pricing, and displaying it.
  • Stock shelves and restock displays as needed.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Use of company radios to communicate with employees.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting may be required of 25-50lbs.
  • We have indoor and outdoor registers – being out in all types of weather conditions.
Qualifications:
  • Previous cashier or retail customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and computer skills.

  • Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to Cafe recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar/dining area and other work spaces.
  • Assist with food preparation, such as running food or drink orders and plating pastries.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, addressing their inquiries, and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
  • Follow daily checklists and sidework tasks to ensure a smooth service and easy work flow.
  • Keeping pace with incoming orders, having a sense of urgency during high volume. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for 6+ hours and lift 20+ lbs.
  • Capability to go up and down stairs.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Barista or in the food industry is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of espresso drinks, or willingness to learn and follow standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Working on a kitchen line, reading tickets and keeping pace with team members.
  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, cutting, and measuring ingredients.
  • Cook and assemble menu items according to recipes and portion sizes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, oven cleaning, etc.
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Keeping pace with incoming orders, having a sense of urgency during high volume.
  • Follow daily checklists and sidework tasks to ensure a smooth service and easy workflow. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for 6+ hours and lift 20+ lbs.

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in the food industry is required. Must 18+ to apply.

We are a fast-paced, high-volume nursery/garden center seeking a friendly, dependable individual to join our cafe team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency and high-quality service of our cafe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Keeping the dish pit clean and organized, learning dishwasher etiquette and function.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and dining areas during downtime. 
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization within busy settings and shared workspaces.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and/or busy service periods. 
Schedule:
  • Part time positions available
  • One weekend day required – looking for Friday, Saturday, Sunday help. 
  • Base pay $16
