Horticulture is a generations old tradition for the Briggs Family, starting with “Grandpa” Briggs who owned a nursery in Dighton, MA. during the 1930’s and 1940’s, serving customers in the Taunton area.

In 1961, Briggs Nursery, Inc. of North Attleboro was started as a landscape design and build company by Paul and Barbara Briggs. The Briggs’ built a large and loyal following of local clients, building small and large scale landscaping projects including ball fields and parks. In 1962, the family purchased the current location (a former poultry farm) where they built a retail nursery, greenhouse and garden center. The business continued to thrive but experienced a devastating setback on a bitter December night in 1969 when a major fire destroyed the retail complex. Recovering quickly, the family persevered, rebuilding and improving the facility.

Family-owned and run, all three sons Paul Jr., Gary and David began working in the business starting in the 1970’s. Steve Shumila, a lifelong friend and present day Retail Manager also started working for Briggs’ at this time. Recently in 2008 we entered a new chapter, when Briggs’ reconstructed an entirely new retail store, greenhouses and nursery yard.

Today we continue to grow, evolving to satisfy the needs of the modern gardener and home-owner. Consistently making improvements to the property and customer service program we are inspired to create an one-of-a-kind shopping experience for the senses. Supported by a friendly, knowledgeable staff and offering an unique product selection, we are committed to your individuality and satisfaction.
